CPL 2022: Caribbean Premier League Sports Marketing Course – The course was created by the Faculty of Sports at UWI and the marketing team at Hero CPL and it will give students insight into how a hugely successful sporting event unfolds. At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to work with the hero PCL team as trainees during the tournament.

Hero CPL offers internships every year that allow young people from all over the region to gain experience in several departments including operations, marketing and sponsorship. The trainees are fully integrated into the Hero CPL team and have become an important part of running a successful tournament, especially during a global pandemic.

The course will be run as a pilot project in 2022 with the intention of rolling it out further in the coming years. The course will include brand management, developing marketing plans, public relations strategy, social media and digital content planning and many other aspects involved in a successful sporting event.

Launched in 2013, the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is a franchise-based T20 format cricket tournament that combines two of the most fascinating aspects of Caribbean life: dramatic cricket and a lively carnival atmosphere.
