New Delhi: Advertising company Dentsu International announced on Monday the launch of its sports marketing unit in India. The launch is supported by Dentsu Sports International (DSI) and Dentsu Sports Asia (DSAsia), Singapore, headquartered in Tokyo.
DSI and DSAsia are global agencies that provide marketing solutions to advertisers by partnering with popular sports properties. In India, the unit will operate under DSAsia, Singapore.
The agency has appointed former cricketer and director of sports marketing Anand Yalvigi as director of the new vertical for India. In his new role, Yalvigi will report to Haresh Nayak, COO, Dentsu International, Media Brands.
The launch of the Dentsu India / Dentsu Sports Asia unit will harness the power of sport to bring meaningful marketing solutions and experiences to brands, Nayak said.
With over 20 years of sports marketing experience, Yalvigi is a former Ranji Trophy player who played for Mumbai and Karnataka. He has launched and worked with several sports management companies, including Ignite Sports, Havas Sports, Network Sports and Nimbus. He was also instrumental in building the Kochi IPL team.
For the new unit, Yalvigi said the expertise will be in delivering a one-stop sports marketing solution for a mess-breaking brand. The range of services will include sports advice, stadium advertising, brand activations, talent management, leadership program, corporate sports events, sports education, CSR and team sponsorship. , did he declare.
