Navy Sports Marketing Student Internship Program

The Navy’s Sports Marketing department offers internships throughout the year; summer, fall and spring. During the fall and spring, internships are designed to mirror the academic semester and run from the first week of classes to the last week of classes. Exam week is optional for interns to complete event work, but office hours officially end the week before exams. Summer internships are designed to meet the availability of future students.

Requirements:
Students must be energetic, responsible, organized, and motivated to help the Navy Sports Marketing Office execute the marketing plan for one of the top intercollegiate sports programs in the nation. Students are required to work 10-15 hours per week in the office and take care of all assigned event/game day responsibilities. Course credit is available if approved by their college/university.

Job description:

  • Assist with marketing, promotions and game day operations for Navy sporting events including football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, wrestling and volleyball games, as well as tournaments organized by the NCAA
  • Distribution of promotional materials, including team posters and schedule cards
  • Assist in the growth and development of the Kidshipmen club
  • Assist staff in the creation of sports marketing plans, plan implementation and end of season summaries for each sport
  • Other daily tasks administered by staff

Navy Athletics Corporate Internship Program – Fall 2021

Requirements:
This volunteer internship will give you broad exposure to many facets of the complex and rewarding field of intercollegiate sports sponsorship. Our goal is to provide interns with tangible skills, meaningful work experience, and a substantial work product that will serve them well in their pursuit of a career in intercollegiate athletics. Students are required to work 15-20 hours per week in the office and take care of all assigned event/game day responsibilities. Course credit is available if approved by their college/university.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and a high level of problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of being able to conduct in-depth research and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness and ability to learn quickly.

Target candidate:

  • Graduate or undergraduate student looking for a challenging, high-level internship for fall 2021.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the fulfillment of sponsorships, communications and management of the Army-Navy football game and local Navy corporate sponsorships.

  • Assist with preparation, set-up, execution, credentials, on and off-field/field promotions, timelines and logistics.
  • Assist with game day activation and sponsor deliverables (print ads, logos, signage, publications, brochures, banners, online banner ads and social media campaigns).
  • Assist in the creation of PowerPoint presentations for game sponsors and partners (sponsor summaries and sales proposals).
  • Assist with a database for sponsorship items leading up to the match.
  • Assist with radio broadcast formatting and commercial break logs.
  • Monitor social media to ensure pre-promotion efforts are tracked and recorded.
  • Provide general administrative support for sponsorship and partnership programs.
  • Other duties include general office duties such as mailings, deliveries and distribution of materials to partners.
  • Pending health and safety requirements, remote/virtual work may be available during office hours.
  • Must be available to work all six (6) Navy football home games at Annapolis (9/4, 9/11, 10/2, 10/9, 10/23 and 11/20) and the Army game- Navy in East Rutherford, NJ on December 11.

Navy Annual Athletic Fund Internship – Spring 2020

The Navy Athletics Development Team is seeking an intern for Spring 2020. This internship will give you broad exposure to many facets of the complex and rewarding field of intercollegiate athletic development. Our goal is to provide interns with real-world skills, meaningful work experience, and a substantial work product that will serve them well in their pursuit of a career in intercollegiate athletic development.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable talking on the phone
  • Students must be energetic, responsible, organized, and motivated to help the Navy Athletic Sports Development Team implement the development plan for one of the nation’s top intercollegiate athletic programs.
  • Students must maintain consistent office hours each week (we will work with your schedule).
  • Manage event/game day responsibilities as assigned.
  • Have good computer skills in Excel.

Job description: This unique internship includes event management, operational and administrative support and stewardship.

  • Make 60-80 calls a day with the goal of increasing revenue and Blue-N*-Gold membership
  • Educate potential and current donors on ticket and parking priority
  • Assist the development team in facilitating mailings
  • Other daily duties administered and assigned by the Athletic Development Team.
