Phoenixville wins PAC Men’s Tennis Championship – PA Prep Live

The Phoenixville boys’ tennis team won the Pioneer Athletic Conference tag team championship with a 7-0 victory over Norristown on Monday.

The 11-0 league final rounds out the Phantoms’ 25th best league tag team title and the first all-time title since 2012. Phoenixville shared the title with Methacton and Spring-Ford in 2018.

Only two matches were played against the understaffed Norristown. Josh Starczewski and Nico Rambla were singles set winners at No. 1 and 2 in singles, respectively, while all other matches were lost to the Phantoms.

The Phantoms haven’t given up on a doubles game all regular season.

Singles: Josh Starczewski (Px) def. Jose Ortiz Flores 6-2, 6-2; Nico Rambla (Px) beats. Leo Flores Chavez 6-2, 6-1; David Clipper (Px) won by forfeit.

Doubles: Anthony DeLuca / Oliver Gordon (Px) won by forfeit; Dylan Gheris / Dylan Eliasson (Px) won by forfeit; Gavin Perillo / Brendan Flick (Px) won by forfeit; Luca Eaton / Brandon Benkler (Px) won by forfeit.

Lacrosse for boys

Perkiomen Valley 18, Phoenixville 5

Highlights: Senior hat trios Sam Nice and Riley Milligan and Jack Scaliti tallied two goals and two assists as Perkiomen Valley improved to 9-0 in the PAC, a victory far from winning their first conference championship.

Matt Farrington, Dane Hagen, Dillon Kane and Luke Cichetti also scored several goals for the Vikings.

Bryan Maguire scored three goals for the Phantoms.

PV can pick up on Wednesday at home when it hosts Interboro.

Highlights: Luke Heimbach (5 goals, 3 assists) and Aidan McFalls (4 goals, 4 assists) each had eight goals when the Bears retired from the Falcons.

Justin Wescoat scored five goals and an assist to carry Pottsgrove.
