To celebrate the pocket release of his autobiography Change the game – Alan Lytle of WUKY recently met college sports marketing pioneer and former WBKY alumnus Jim Host. During his multi-faceted career, Jim has been involved in state politics, working for Republican Governors Louie B. Nunn and Ernie Fletcher. These political and commercial ties were put to good use in the construction of the Rupp Arena, Kentucky Horse Park and KFC Yum! Center. In this in-depth interview, Jim talks about his use of bundling to secure lucrative sports marketing business deals and makes a strong case for tax reform in Kentucky and speaks out on the NCAA’s new policy on the image and likeness of the name for student athletes.
